About the Role

We are seeking a proactive and driven Capacity and Utilisation Lead to join our team. Job Purpose

• Support sites to achieve admissions targets and revenue goals.
• Escalate any issues or concerns that may impact case numbers or revenue.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

• Work closely with the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and Shared Service Lead to maximise outpatient and theatre capacity, as well as pre-operative clinic efficiency.
• Build effective partnerships with SLT, secretaries, and consultants to enhance engagement and deliver on theatre and outpatient utilisation targets.
• Negotiate additional capacity with staff and consultants, especially when cancellations occur, ensuring utilisation targets are maintained at short notice.
• Regularly obtain and review utilisation data, meeting with SLT to identify and support improvements in theatre and outpatient clinic usage.
• Collaborate with the Shared Service Centre to manage e-RS and Referral to Treatment (RTT) pathways, ensuring efficient referral handling and outpatient bookings.
• Facilitate the smooth and timely progression of patients through their RTT pathway.
• Provide direct leadership and support to Outpatient and Reception Administration Teams.
• Develop and implement training plans focusing on process mapping, reducing duplication, and driving efficiency across the hospital.

• Effectively manage the RTT position to ensure timely patient care.
• Support sites in achieving admissions and revenue targets.
• Contribute to improving the hospital’s performance rankings.

About You

• Experience in healthcare operational management or capacity planning is highly desirable.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build strong working relationships across multi-disciplinary teams.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret utilisation data and drive improvements.
• Proven leadership abilities and experience in managing administrative teams.
• Proactive, solution-focused, and able to respond effectively to challenges at short notice.
