Your role and responsibilities 

Your role will focus on the end-to-end project management of an innovative capital project to reimagine Ipswich County Library as The Foundry: a modern and flexible library space

• This role includes working with all contractors and professional bodies to ensure the project remains safe, compliant and on track for completion. 
• You will take a lead on budget management for the project to ensure the project remains on course financially and that the requirements of funders are fully satisfied.
• Your role will also be to ensure all quality assurance processes are undertaken and meet the overall objectives of the vision as well as the individual funders.
• You will have the opportunity to collaborate across the wider libraries team as well as use skills to engage local library users making use of creative means of communication.

You will need:

• appropriate Level 5 qualification, or equivalent experience in a related area of work. A Project Management Qualification or certification (PRINCE2, Agile etc) is desirable
• demonstrable project management skills and an ability to manage multiple and competing priorities at a time 
• sound budget management skills including the ability to reprofile spend to meet any evolving needs of the project 
• good people and communication skills to work alongside internal teams as well as external contractors and communities
• a passion for public spaces and ensuring communities have access to beautiful but functional spaces to come together.

The Suffolk Community Libraries team sits at the heart of the Public Health, Communities and Public Safety directorate, playing a vital role in bringing their ambitions to life. Working across 45 libraries and three mobile libraries, our mission is to connect people with information, ideas and experiences to create stronger and more resilient communities in Suffolk.
