Job Description - Care Home Deputy Manager

Care Home Deputy Manager (Nursing)

Location: Norfolk
Salary: £55,000 DoE per annum
Hours: 40 hours per week

About the Role:

As the Care Home Deputy Manager (Nursing) , you will play a key role in managing daily operations to ensure our high-quality care standards are met. You will oversee the care staff and step in as the acting manager in the Home Managers absence. Your responsibilities include training and supervising staff, conducting pre-admission assessments, and maintaining up-to-date care plans and records for our residents. Youll also foster strong communication with residents families and external organizations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership & Management: Assist in managing the homes operations to meet or exceed goals while ensuring the delivery of excellent care. Take on full management responsibilities when the Home Manager is unavailable.
  • Staff Development: Provide direct instruction and set a positive example to train and supervise care staff in all aspects of their roles.
  • Resident Care: Conduct pre-admission assessments, update care plans, and maintain daily records for residents.
  • Family & External Relations: Foster effective communication with residents families and other care professionals.
  • Compliance & Standards: Ensure all activities comply with CQC standards and promote a high standard of care.

Skills and Attributes:

  • Experience: Previous experience as a Deputy Home Manager.
  • Engagement: Ability to understand and meet the needs of service users, ensuring excellent care services.
  • CQC Knowledge: Strong working knowledge of CQC standards.
  • Relationship Building: Excellent at maintaining professional relationships with families, care professionals, visitors, and staff.
  • Involvement: Promote ownership of care programs by involving service users and their families in care planning and evaluation.

Education and Qualifications:

  • NMC Registered Nurse: Essential with relevant experience.
