Job Description - Career opportunities Car Badge Administrator


Team: Blue Badge Team


Job Family: Providing – CBG6


Salary: £26,824 - £28,142 per annum pro rata
Hours: 26 hours per week


Location: You will be expected to attend a CBC office location as often as needed to carry out your role, which will be no less than once per month. The team are based at Grove View, Dunstable.


Contract Type: Fixed Term/Secondment for 6 months


Closing Date: 22nd June 2026
Interview Date: w/c 29th June 2026


 


 


About the role:


We are looking for a highly organised and customer-focused Car Badge Administrator to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for processing Blue Badge applications, ensuring eligibility criteria are applied accurately and delivering excellent service to applicants.


You will play a key role in supporting residents by managing applications efficiently, maintaining accurate records and responding to enquiries in a professional and timely manner.


 


Key Responsibilities



  • Process Blue Badge applications, renewals, and replacements in line with current legislation and local policy.

  • Assess supporting documentation to determine eligibility.

  • Respond to customer enquiries via phone, email and in person.

  • Arrange Independent Mobility Assessments.

  • Liaise with internal teams, healthcare professionals and external agencies where required.

  • Ensure all records are accurate, up-to-date and compliant with data protection regulations.

  • Support the administration of appeals and reviews.


 


About You


We are looking for an organised, proactive, customer focussed professional with:



  • Experience dealing with the public in a sensitive or complex environment.

  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organisation skills.

  • The ability to work independently and collaboratively with colleagues.

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships across teams.

  • Confidence using Microsoft Office applications and capable of producing clear and concise correspondence to customers.

  • Ideally, experience working with Blue Badge schemes or similar eligibility-based services but training will be provided.
