Salary: £39,798- £45,173 per annum pro rata

Hours: The role may be offered as either one 13 hours per week (0.4 FTE) post or two separate 6.5 hours per week (0.2 FTE) posts - depending on skillset

Location: You will be expected to attend a CBC office location, including Flitwick Library, Flitwick, Bedfordshire, as often as needed to carry out your role, which will be no less than once per month.

About the role

Inspiring Music, the music service for Central Bedfordshire Council, is seeking a highly motivated, skilled, and inspirational Whole Class Tutor to deliver high-quality vocal and instrumental teaching within schools across Central Bedfordshire.

Working as part of our dedicated Music Service team, you will deliver engaging whole-class music sessions in line with Department for Education guidance and the aims of Arts Council England Music Hubs, helping children and young people develop musical skills, confidence, creativity, and a lifelong engagement with music.

We currently offer a broad range of whole-class instrumental and singing programmes and are looking for a flexible and enthusiastic musician-educator with strong multi-instrumental and/or vocal teaching skills, who is willing to continue developing their practice to meet the evolving needs of our school partners.

This role may be offered as:

• one 13 hours per week (0.4 FTE) post - 2 days per week


• split into two separate 6.5 hopurs per week (0.2 FTE) posts - 1 day a week for the right candidates.

Inspiring Music works closely with a wide range of local and national creative partners to design and deliver innovative projects that respond to the needs of children and young people across Central Bedfordshire. Our work focuses on building skills, enthusiasm, aspiration, and progression opportunities, ensuring high-quality and sustainable music-making opportunities for all.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Inclusion Manager for Music and wider music service team to develop inclusive musical opportunities and progression pathways for children and young people, continually striving to deliver outstanding music education within our schools and communities.
