Job Description

We are seeking a reliable and conscientious School Caretaker to join our friendly and hardworking premises team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who takes pride in maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors.

As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for the day-to-day upkeep and security of the school premises, ensuring that the site is maintained to a high standard and is fully operational at all times.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out general maintenance and minor repairs across the school site.
• Ensure the school grounds and buildings are clean, safe, and secure.
• Monitor and maintain heating, lighting, and alarm systems.
• Support with setting up rooms for school events and activities.
• Conduct regular health & safety checks and report any issues.
• Liaise with contractors and external service providers as required.
• Adhere to school policies and procedures at all times.

The Ideal Candidate Will:

• Have previous experience in a similar caretaker or facilities role (preferably in an educational setting).
• Possess strong DIY and maintenance skills.
• Have a basic understanding of Health & Safety regulations, ideally within schools.
• Be able to work independently and manage their own workload.
• Be adaptable, flexible, and willing to respond to the needs of the school.
• Demonstrate good communication skills, both written and verbal.
