Are you someone who enjoys working outdoors, takes pride in maintaining public spaces, and likes practical, hands-on work? We're looking for a District Caretaker to join our Facilities Services team based at Westgate, Skelmersdale.

This is a fantastic opportunity to play an important role in keeping our local communities clean, safe, and well maintained while working as part of a dedicated and supportive team.

What you'll be doing

As a District Caretaker, you'll carry out a variety of maintenance and caretaking duties to help maintain the borough's public areas and facilities. Your responsibilities will include:

Operating a range of handheld equipment, including:

*

Weed sprayers

*

Strimmers

*

Hedge trimmers

*

Leaf blowers

*

Jet washers

*

Carrying out basic DIY and minor maintenance tasks.

*

Maintaining outdoor areas to a high standard.

*

Working safely and following all health and safety procedures.

*

Completing tasks efficiently as directed by supervisors.

*

Contributing to a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for residents and visitors.

What we're looking for

We're seeking a reliable, hardworking individual who enjoys practical work and takes pride in delivering high-quality results.

You'll ideally have:

Experience working in a manual or operational environment.

*

Experience using handheld grounds maintenance or landscaping equipment.

*

Basic DIY and maintenance skills.

*

A positive attitude and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

*

A strong commitment to health and safety and following procedures.

*

A full UK driving licence (desirable).
