A welcoming primary school in Leeds is looking to appoint a Caretaker to join the team from September 2026.

This is a full-time, long-term opportunity for someone who enjoys practical work and takes pride in maintaining a safe, secure, and well-presented school environment. You'll become an important part of the school community, helping to ensure the site runs smoothly every day.

The Role

You'll be responsible for the day-to-day upkeep of the school site, working to maintain a safe and welcoming environment for pupils, staff, and visitors.

Responsibilities include:

• Opening and locking the school site

• Carrying out general maintenance and minor repairs

• Completing routine health and safety checks

• Maintaining the school buildings and grounds

• Setting up rooms for meetings and school events

• Liaising with contractors when required

• Reporting maintenance issues and supporting site compliance

The Successful Candidate

The school is looking for a reliable and proactive individual with previous experience as a Caretaker, Site Assistant, Premises Assistant, Facilities Assistant, or Maintenance Operative.

School experience is desirable but not essential for candidates with relevant maintenance or facilities experience. A practical approach, good problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently are essential.

Salary & Benefits

• £28,000–£32,000 per annum (depending on experience)
