Caretaker

A successful Mixed Secondary School in Sunderland is seeking a dependable and hardworking Caretaker to join its premises team on a full-time, permanent basis.

This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who takes pride in maintaining high standards and enjoys working within a school environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the site remains safe, secure, clean and well-maintained for students, staff and visitors.

Responsibilities will include opening and closing the school, carrying out routine maintenance tasks, conducting site inspections and supporting health and safety compliance across the premises.

You will monitor contractors, report maintenance issues, undertake minor repairs and assist with the preparation of facilities for examinations, school productions, parents' evenings and other events.

The successful candidate will work closely with the premises team and senior leaders to ensure all buildings and grounds remain fit for purpose and maintained to a high standard throughout the year.

Strong practical skills, reliability and a proactive approach are essential for this role.
