Casual Domestic Assistant

Hours: we are looking for 2 Casual Domestics to join our team. One of these providing cover, when required, for standard domestic hours which are 37 hours per week (worked 9am - 5pm, 5 days from 7 which includes weekend working), and a second position which would provide cover, when required, for the hours 6am - 2pm, ensuring a domestic function within school as well as other areas of the organisation . The Casual Domestics may be asked to cover any of these days/times based on the needs of the service, predominantly covering for annual leave and unplanned absences.

Fixed Hourly Rate: £14.63 per hour.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Assist the substantive Household Team to maintain high levels of cleanliness to agreed standards within the Houses and participation in general domestic duties throughout Rossie as directed by the relevant supervisor/line manager.

To carry out such cleaning and related duties within the Houses as determined by the relevant manager:

• Maintain high standards of cleanliness and tidiness as per cleaning schedule

• Ensure all kitchen areas are maintained at the highest level of hygiene

• In collaboration with the Chef Manager, ensure the house toilets are consistently maintained at the highest levels of hygiene

Responsibility for other domestic duties within the Houses:

• Collect the House laundry and deliver it to the central laundry daily

• Assist in the serving of meals to the young people including laying tables and cleaning away afterwards

• Ensure there are adequate supplies of clean laundry available within the House

• Assist with the laundering of young people’s clothing within the House

General domestic duties within Rossie:

• Assist with the provision of domestic duties throughout Rossie inclusive of all common areas, office suites and corridors

• As required provide support in the main kitchen

• Work effectively as part of the Domestic team as well as on your own

Other duties as directed:

• Participate in appropriate training

• Microsoft Office packages including Word, Excel, Office 365, SharePoint

• Previous experience in domestic industry
