Job Description - Category Food Buyer

Do you have a passion for great products, and a nose for food trends?
We are on the hunt for a Category Food Buyer who knows their way around supplier negotiations, category management and spotting products customers will love!

Our client has an exciting opportunity within the food industry, for an experienced Category Buyer to join their growing team, to be responsible for the management of products and services & negotiating with the suppliers as well as maintaining positive relationships. This is a fully on-site based role.

Main duties include:

* Supporting the category & procurement plans

* Delivery of sales, margins and profit

* Managing the end-to-end procurement process & analysing market trends

* Respond to customer queries

* Monitor inventory levels

* Attend industry events, trade shows and supplier meetings

Requirements:

* Excellent communication skills

* Strong negotiation & influencing skills

* A strong commercial mindset and analytical skills

* Attention to detail

* Experience within food, wholesale / distribution or FMCG preferred
