Category Manager

Quest Search & Selection are currently partnering with a leading tech eCommerce platform specialised in consumer goods and last-mile delivery .

Key responsibilities of this Category Manager:

• Lead ongoing range reviews to optimise product assortments, identify opportunities, and introduce innovative new lines.
• Lead vendor negotiations to achieve favourable terms and build strong, long-term supplier partnerships.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including in-stock managers and category analysts to enable aligned and data-informed decision-making.
• Manage multiple category initiatives from concept to completion, ensuring timely and seamless execution.
• Strategically plan and deliver impactful promotions and activations that engage customers and drive business growth.
• Educating suppliers on the platform's value and maximising their return on investment.
• Harness data insights in partnership with the Data Team to inform category strategy and shape future growth plans.
• Ensure product quality through stringent checks, maintaining high standards across the category.

Key requirements of Category Manager:

• That you come from a category management, category analyst or vendor management where you're utilising data to make decisions on buying, range review & category development.
• Expert in Excel at an advanced level for financial modelling - this is essential
• Background in e-commerce, tech, retail, or FMCG sectors, with a growth mindset.
• Can adapt to new product categories easily
• Strong analytical skills, consistently leveraging data to guide decisions and deliver impactful performance insights.
• Demonstrated expertise in negotiation and deal-making, securing mutually beneficial agreements and fostering lasting supplier relationships.
• Good PowerPoint for developing clear, compelling presentations.
• Excellent communicator and stakeholder manager, confident working across cross-functional teams.
