Location: Derby
Salary: £43,000 - £52,000 DOE + Excellent Benefits

SF Recruitment are supporting a leading UK organisation with the recruitment of a Category Manager role focused on Indirect Procurement,These are permanent roles based at the organisation's head office in Derby with hybrid working and flexible working hours.

This position plays a crucial role in delivering effective procurement strategies, supporting high-value tenders, and ensuring strong commercial outcomes across indirect categories. The role will contribute to the successful delivery of the organisation's Indirect Spend Category Plan, working closely with internal project teams, stakeholders, and external partners to maintain high procurement standards and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities:
-Lead on procurement strategy development and tender execution across assigned indirect categories
-Develop and manage supplier agreements to secure commercial value and operational efficiency
-Ensure compliance with the latest procurement regulations, including the Procurement Act 2023
-Advise internal stakeholders on procurement best practice, processes, and governance
-Manage POs and maintain a clear, auditable procurement trail
-Hold suppliers accountable to contract delivery through structured performance management
-Support the delivery of KPIs aligned with national contract performance metrics

Skills and Experience Required:
-CIPS qualified or currently working towards (desirable)
-Strong end-to-end procurement experience within indirect spend categories
-Demonstrated knowledge of public sector procurement practices (training provided if needed)
-Previous experience drafting and negotiating supplier agreements
-Able to work effectively under deadlines and manage multiple procurement projects
-Confident communicator with solid stakeholder engagement and influencing skills
-Proficiency with ERP, eProcurement systems, and Microsoft Office
-Analytical thinker with attention to contract detail and risk management
