My client are looking for Category Managers with procurement experience in either the City Development/Highways and Social Care/Health areas.

The ideal candidates should be working towards or already be a full member of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing & Supply (MCIPS) or similar management qualification.
Responsibilities:
Support the development and delivery of a strategic sourcing programme for defined category areas. Devise appropriate procurement strategies whilst understanding spend profiles and the delivery of projects within time constraints and within defined budgets. Provide comprehensive, relevant and high value insight into all procurement and commercial aspects of specific categories. Understand the supply chain, the commercial environment, the nature of demand and the cultural and political forces which influence it. lead the development of high value relationships with suppliers enabling the client to maximise the value it extracts from its commercial partnerships. Be pro-active in working with colleagues to develop the potential for a stronger local supplier market ensuring that more spend, where appropriate, is directly leveraged into the local economy. Meet customer requirements by delivering value for money, identifying cost savings and other efficiency's including innovative solutions. Ensure that internal clients adhere to the Contract Standing Orders and EU procurement directives.What's in it for you?
