Job Description - Category Manager - Corporate Services

The Category Manager will oversee procurement operations for a client of our in the professional services industry, ensuring efficient sourcing strategies and supplier management. This London-based role requires a skilled individual to drive value and innovation in procurement practices.

The employer is a well-established large organisation operating in the professional services industry, and they are going through a programme of change and development across their procurement function to drive a strategic approach and enhance the maturity of the function across EMEA.

Description

  • Develop and implement category strategies to optimise procurement processes.
  • Business/Corporate Services categrories of spend.
  • Conduct market analysis to identify cost-saving opportunities and supplier innovations.
  • Manage supplier relationships to ensure high-quality service delivery and compliance.
  • Lead tendering processes, negotiate contracts, and ensure favourable terms.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align procurement strategies with business objectives.
  • Monitor supplier performance using key metrics and address any performance issues.
  • Ensure adherence to procurement policies, standards, and ethical practices.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to enhance procurement efficiency.

Profile

A successful Category Manager should have:

  • Strong experience in procurement and supply chain management within the professional services industry.
  • A proven track record of developing and executing category strategies.
  • Excellent negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
  • Familiarity with tendering processes and contract management principles.
  • Proficiency in analysing market trends and supplier performance data.
  • A relevant qualification in procurement, supply chain, or a related field is preferred.
