Category Manager FTC

An exciting opportunity has arisen within a high-profile, fast-paced organisation for an Indirect Category Manager to join their Procurement team. This role is ideally suited for someone with experience in category management who is looking to deepen their procurement expertise in a dynamic and highly collaborative environment.

• Identifying short- and medium-term procurement opportunities through data analysis, supplier research, and business engagement.

• Negotiate robust commercial terms that deliver value while mitigating risk and aligning with wider business strategy.

• Take ownership of transactional supplier relationships across a range of services, including capital equipment, plant hire, site setup, mechanical design, and logistics.

• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to streamline the procurement process, improve buying experiences, and support sustainability and efficiency goals.

• Participate in the full procurement cycle, including supplier research, tender documentation, negotiation, and contract finalisation.

• Maintain regular contact with internal teams and external suppliers to deliver a proactive and policy-compliant procurement service.

• Support key procurement processes, ensure purchase requisition compliance, and provide guidance on clear and commercially viable specifications.

• Previous experience in a procurement or category management role.

• Understanding of procurement best practices and contract negotiation.

• Strong analytical and Excel skills (pivot tables, data interpretation).

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Proven ability to influence, collaborate and drive behavioural change internally and across supply chains.

• Comfortable managing multiple stakeholders and prioritising in a fast-paced setting.
