Rate: £500 per day (Umbrella)
Contract: 3 months ongoing
Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pm

Vox Consultants are recruiting for an experienced Category Specialist to join a West London local authority on an initial 3-month ongoing contract. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced procurement professional to lead end-to-end procurement activity, deliver value for money, and support strategic procurement across a range of council categories.

The Role You will be responsible for:

Leading end-to-end procurement projects across allocated categories.
Providing expert procurement advice to senior stakeholders.
Developing category plans and sourcing strategies that deliver value for money.
Managing supplier relationships and contract performance.
Ensuring procurement activity complies with legislation and council procurement regulations.
Working collaboratively with commissioners, finance, legal and operational teams to deliver successful procurement outcomes.
Supporting continuous improvement, innovation and best practice within the procurement function.About You The successful candidate will have:

Previous experience working within public sector procurement, MUST BE within a local authority.
CIPS qualification (or equivalent experience), with progression towards CIPS desirable.
Strong knowledge of category management, strategic sourcing and contract management.
Excellent commercial awareness, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
Experience managing end-to-end procurement exercises and delivering compliant procurement solutions.
