CATERING ASSISTANT

Salary: £28,662.72 per annum

Working Hours: Permanent, Full Time, 40 hours per week (Mon - Fri) 06:30 – 19:30

Location: Cheltenham, Gloucestershire

Excellent benefits package including 2.5% Golden Hello payment on commencement of employment and up to £2,000 annual retention bonus subject to eligibility criteria (pro-rata for part time employees), subject to maintaining clearance requirements.

We are looking to grow our existing Catering team at this prestigious site in Cheltenham. This is a full time position working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday between 6:30am and 7:30pm.

Core Responsibilities:

Customer Service & Hospitality

• Provide exceptional, proactive customer service by anticipating and responding to client needs.


• Operate barista coffee machinery, handle till transactions, and prepare basic food items.


• Coordinate, prepare, and deliver hospitality catering across the site as needed.

Food Safety, Hygiene & Maintenance

• Maintain clean, hygienic work environments in line with Food Safety and Health & Safety regulations.


• Complete daily compliance documentation, including mandatory food and equipment temperature checks.


• Monitor kitchen machinery to ensure safe operation, reporting any maintenance faults promptly.

Stock Control & Daily Operations

• Manage stock rotation (FIFO), assist with periodic stocktakes, and proactively minimize waste.


• Demonstrate strong teamwork, reliability, and professionalism across all shifts.


• Remain flexible to support business needs, including occasional shifts at nearby sites, and complete ongoing skills training.

Essential Requirements:

• Previous experience working within a catering or food service environment.


• Valid Level 2 Food Hygiene certification


• Basic understanding of Health & Safety practices, COSHH guidelines, and allergen management due diligence.

• Food safety certificate


• Previous experience of a quality catering operation


• IT Competent
