Location: Location: Royal Wootton Bassett School, SN4 7HG (North Wiltshire Schools, Swindon area ,Multi-site role covering 3 local school sites)

Pay Rate: £12.71 per hour

Hours: Permanent. 23.75 hours per week. Monday to Friday, 10:00 am – 2:45 pm Term Time

About the Role

G4S Facilities Management is seeking a Catering Assistant to join our team supporting Royal Wootton Bassett School (North Wiltshire Schools). Working collaboratively within a dynamic environment, you will follow standard operating procedures and maintain excellent hygiene standards to consistently deliver exceptional service to our students and staff.

Key Responsibilities

• Food Preparation: Prepare cold snack items including sandwiches, rolls, and baguettes.
  
  


• Bakery & Menu Support: Prepare cake and biscuit items for sale, and assist with prepping menu items as directed by the Chef Manager.
  
  


• Customer Service & Tills: Serve food to students and staff, operate tills, and process transactions using cashless catering systems.
  
  


• Till Reconciliation: Perform cashing up of tills or loaders as directed by the Chef Manager.
  
  


• Cleaning & Maintenance: Clear and clean kitchen and restaurant areas to maintain high hygiene standards.
  
  


• Compliance & Paperwork: Complete required registration paperwork as needed.
  
  


• Flexible Support: Work teacher training days or outside events as required (fully paid), and cover across the 3 local school sites when needed (travel expenses reimbursed).

Essential:

• Basic Awareness of food safety and hygiene procedures.
  
  


• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  
  


• Adaptable, collaborative, and capable of working both independently and in a team.
