The Change Management Consultant is a pivotal role designed to provide expert HR and organizational change support to Achieving for Children (AfC) during significant transformation, restructuring, and workforce change initiatives. Collaborating with senior leaders, managers, Trade Unions, and People Services colleagues, the consultant will ensure that change initiatives are executed effectively, equitably, and in alignment with employment laws, organizational policies, and best practices. This position is crucial in facilitating workforce transitions, reducing organizational risk, and sustaining employee engagement during periods of change.
Responsibilities
Lead and manage complex organizational change programs, including restructures and workforce transformation projects.
Offer expert advice on organizational design, workforce planning, and the implementation of change.
Assist managers in crafting comprehensive business cases and change proposals that align with organizational goals.
Ensure all change activities comply with AfC policies, procedures, and employment legislation.
Support the execution of service transformation initiatives in response to national reforms in Children's Services, Education, SEND, and Family Services.
Provide specialized advice on employment law concerning consultation, redundancy, workforce reductions, and TUPE.
Guarantee adherence to statutory consultation requirements and organizational change procedures.
Requirements:
Extensive experience in leading complex organizational change, restructuring, and workforce transformation programs.
Demonstrated experience in supporting redundancy, redeployment, and consultation processes.
Strong background in advising senior leaders on organizational design and workforce planning.
Experience in collaborating with Trade Unions and employee representatives during formal consultation processes.
CIPD Level 5 qualification or higher, or an equivalent professional HR qualification.
Alternatively, significant demonstrable experience in organizational change management, workforce transformation, and employment relations.

Contract Duration: 3 months with a local authority
Rate: £37.94 per hour Umbrella
Working Hours: 36 hours per week
Location: 53 Grimwood Road, Twickenham, Richmond, TW1 1BY, United Kingdom
Work Pattern: 2 days in the office (locations include Twickenham, Kingston, and Maidenhead)
DBS check required for the role
