About Focus Group

Focus Group is a £300m-revenue, 1,300-person technology services company backed by Hg Capital. Following our $1bn valuation in 2024, we're scaling rapidly — investing in AI, acquiring strategically, and transforming how we operate to serve 30,000 SME customers better than anyone else in the market.

The Role

We're looking for a Change Management Lead to own the people side of our transformation programme — not just to write the plans, but to make sure change actually lands. That means holding project teams accountable, managing risk across the portfolio, getting hands-on where it matters, and constantly improving how we do this.

This is a high-visibility, high-impact role working directly with our Head of Transformation. You'll be expected to bring structure, credibility, and pace — and to use AI as a genuine working tool, not a buzzword.

What You'll Do

  • Own change management across our transformation portfolio — ensuring every programme has a clear change plan, defined stakeholders, mapped communications and adoption activities.
  • Hold project teams accountable for their change delivery — coaching them to build capability while never letting delivery slip.
  • Deep-dive into priority initiatives when needed — knowing when to get hands-on and when to step back.
  • Make sure change communications land — right message, right people, right time. You'll spot weak messaging and sharpen it.
  • Coordinate the change champion network and keep key stakeholders informed, engaged, and prepared for what's coming.
  • Iterate and improve our change methodology — working with leadership to pressure-test what's working and fix what isn't.
  • Manage the change-risk register — keeping it live, actionable and reviewed in governance (not dusted off before meetings).
  • Use AI tools as a core part of how you work — to move faster, scale your impact, and do more with less.

What We're Looking For

Essential:

  • 2–4 years in a consulting, internal transformation, or dedicated change management role — not just BAU improvement.
  • Full project lifecycle exposure: from ideation through business case, design, implementation, and sustaining change.
  • Proven track record of delivering change that affected real people's day-to-day work — behaviours, processes, ways of working.
  • Stakeholder management without authority — able to influence, push back, and hold people accountable through credibility and EQ.
  • Structured, consulting-style thinking — you break down complexity without overcomplicating it.
  • Active AI user — you use AI tools in your work today and can demonstrate it. 'Open to it' doesn't cut it here.
  • Strong written and verbal communication — clear project updates, governance materials, stakeholder comms.
  • Delivery orientation — your first instinct is 'how do we get this done,' not 'let me design the perfect framework.'

Desirable:

  • Experience in a B2B technology or managed services environment.
  • Exposure to PE-backed or rapidly scaling organisations.
  • Familiarity with structured methodologies such as Prosci ADKAR or Kotter.
