Chapter Lead - Software Engineering

Hays Software Engineering are looking for a Chapter Lead to join a well-established Financial Services Technology business who are entering growth mode & looking for strong characters to take their business & people to the next level.
What you will be doing:

• Growth & Leadership Development - This business is expanding across multiple regions, creating an opportunity to enhance its people leadership practices and ensure consistent, high-quality management.
• Centre of Excellence Model - Chapter Leads will be part of a centralised People function, responsible for growing, leading, and managing talent across different functional Software Engineering teams.
• Engagement & Collaboration - Chapter Leads will interact with developers, Scrum Masters, project managers, engineering leaders, and-at senior levels-product, design, and operations leadership.
• People-Focused Role - Their primary responsibility is to build capability, develop talent, and drive accountability whilst delivering project outcomes that are in line with business objectives.

What we are looking for:

• Deep Industry Insight - Has hands-on experience in a relevant craft (BA, Dev, etc.) and recognises excellence in the field.
• Established Leadership - Demonstrated success in nurturing individuals and teams in roles like Chapter Lead or Team Lead.
• Supportive Guidance - Excels in mentoring, coaching, and pushing team members to grow.
• Strategic Performance Management - Adept at setting clear expectations, providing constructive feedback, and addressing challenges.
• Career Growth Expertise - Skilled in facilitating meaningful development discussions that drive real progress.
• Clear & Confident Communication - Can handle tough conversations with professionalism, empathy, and precision.
