Charities Lawyer

AJ Chambers are proud to be partnered with a leading national law firm on their search for a Charities Lawyer. This role will sit within their Private Client division and is a fantastic opportunity for someone to deliver into and build upon a mixed caseload for varying clientele within the Charities space.

Responsibilities:

• Establishing and registering charitable organisations
• Providing guidance to charity trustees on their responsibilities, duties, and authority
• Advising on charity mergers and the transfer of charitable assets
• Drafting policies and preparing essential documentation for charities
• Assisting with the closure and deregistration of charitable entities
• Collaborating with our property and employment teams on charity-related issues
• Communicating and coordinating with the Charity Commission
• Business development and attending and ultimately organising networking events

Person Profile:

• Experienced in working with charities of varying sizes
• Exercises sound judgment, with supervision adjusted based on the complexity of the matter
• Accurately identifies and applies relevant legal principles within the area of practice
• Draws on prior experience to verify and assess the accuracy of information provided
• Demonstrates commitment by delivering high-quality work and exceeding expectations
• Personable and skilled at building strong, collaborative relationships with clients and colleagues
