Job Description - Chef de Partie

About Us

Luke Ahearne, formerly of Lita, has partnered with Stevie Parle, chef-owner of Town and Pastaio, to open Motorino in Fitzrovia this October. The duo aims to establish a modern London-Italian restaurant, celebrating quality produce and innovative Italian cuisine. Following a Michelin-starred tenure at Lita, Ahearne expresses excitement about creating something unique in central London. Motorino, Stevie's second opening in six months, will focus on seasonal produce from trusted UK and Ireland suppliers. Parle describes Ahearne as a passionate chef committed to quality and consistency, with the goal of making Motorino the premier London-Italian restaurant. The venue will feature a lively atmosphere, accommodating 150 covers, and include a bar managed by Kevin Armstrong, serving seasonal drinks and martinis.

The Role

We are looking for a passionate and skilled Chef de Partie to join our kitchen brigade. As Chef de Partie, you will play a critical role in maintaining the high standards of our food preparation and presentation. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute creatively to our seasonal menu while working under the guidance of our Head Chef and collaborating with a talented team.

What You’ll Do

  • Prepare and cook high-quality dishes according to the menu specifications and restaurant standards.
  • Manage your section effectively, ensuring proper stock rotation, cleanliness, and organization.
  • Assist in training and mentoring junior team members, fostering a supportive kitchen environment.
  • Work with seasonal ingredients and contribute ideas for menu development and specials.
  • Maintain health and safety standards in the kitchen and adhere to food hygiene regulations.
  • Previous experience as a Chef de Partie or in a similar role in a fast-paced kitchen (approx. 2+ years).
  • Strong culinary skills with a good understanding of modern British cuisine.
  • Passionate about cooking and working with fresh, seasonal ingredients.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Effective communication skills and a collaborative approach to teamwork.
  • Valid right to work in the UK and flexibility to work evenings and weekends.
  • Competitive Pay & Earning Potential
    • £37,000 – £42,000 indicative annual earnings (based on a 48-hour week).
  • Hours & rota: full‑time, 5 days over 7 including evenings and weekends; rotas shared in advance.
  • Holiday: 28 days per year including public holidays (pro rata).
