Rate: £25 - £35 per hour
Contract: Temporary, Full Time
Hours: 36 hours per week

Eden Brown are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Chef Trainer to join a leading Further Education team in Greater Manchester.

The successful candidate will play a key role in supervising, supporting and training trainee chefs, helping students to develop the practical skills, knowledge and professional behaviours required for a successful career within the hospitality and catering industry.

Working closely with teaching staff, you will provide hands-on support within our professional training kitchens, ensuring students receive a high standard of practical training and guidance in a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities
* Supervise and support trainee chef students during practical kitchen sessions.
* Demonstrate professional cookery techniques, preparation methods and kitchen procedures.
* Provide practical coaching and guidance to help students develop their culinary skills.
* Support students in working to professional industry standards.
* Monitor students progress, providing constructive feedback and encouragement.
* Promote good standards of food hygiene, health and safety and kitchen cleanliness.
* Ensure students follow appropriate food safety, allergen and hygiene procedures.
* Assist teaching staff with the planning and delivery of practical training activities.
* Help maintain a well-organised, professional and safe training kitchen.
* Encourage positive attitudes, teamwork, professionalism and good work practices.
* Support students with different abilities and levels of experience to achieve their learning goals.
* Contribute to the wider development and success of the catering and hospitality provision.

About You
You will be an experienced chef or catering professional with a genuine interest in developing the next generation of hospitality professionals.

You should have:
* Professional experience working in a commercial or professional kitchen.
* Strong practical culinary skills and knowledge of modern catering practices.
* A good understanding of food safety, hygiene and health and safety requirements.
* The ability to demonstrate and explain practical cooking techniques clearly.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* The patience and enthusiasm to support learners in a Further Education environment.
* The ability to motivate and encourage students from a range of backgrounds and abilities.
* A professional, positive and approachable manner.
* Good organisational and teamwork skills.

A recognised teaching, training, coaching or assessing qualification would be advantageous, although relevant industry experience and a strong commitment to supporting learners are equally valued.
