Job Description - Chemicals M&A | Investment Banking Associate | London

We are seeking a highly motivated Associate to join our client's Investment Banking team in London, focused exclusively on the Chemicals sector. The team is open to candidates coming from either a Chemicals or broader Industrials background, provided they bring strong transaction experience and a deep understanding of relevant value chains.

This position offers immediate exposure to high‑profile, cross‑border Chemicals M&A transactions, providing hands‑on involvement in complex strategic projects and meaningful responsibility from day one.

Responsibilities

  • Lead execution of complex M&A, strategic advisory, and capital‑raising transactions across the Chemicals sector, including specialty chemicals, performance materials, additives, coatings, and sustainability‑linked technologies.
  • Manage end‑to‑end deal processes, including valuation, financial modelling, due diligence coordination, and preparation of client‑ready materials.
  • Cultivate strong client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor to senior executives, corporate development teams, strategic operators, and financial sponsors active in Chemicals.
  • Oversee preparation of high‑quality pitchbooks, board materials, sector analyses, and transaction documentation, ensuring accuracy, insight, and commercial relevance.

Requirements

  • Experience: 4-6 years of investment banking or financial advisory experience with a strong track record in Chemicals; candidates with solid Industrials exposure and relevant transaction experience are also encouraged to apply.
  • Technical Skills: Advanced financial modelling and valuation skills.
  • Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to produce clear, concise, client‑ready deliverables.
  • Analytical Ability: Strong problem‑solving capability, attention to detail, and comfort operating in fast‑moving deal environments.

If you are looking to join a high‑performing team that advises on market‑shaping Chemical industry transactions and offers immediate responsibility and exposure, we encourage you to apply.
