Holiday Inn London – Kensington High Street is one of Europe’s largest Holiday Inns, the hotel offers an ideal central London location, stylish modern accommodation and a world of culture and comfort for both leisure and business travellers.The hotel has 706 modern guest bedrooms 13 flexible meeting rooms, which can accommodate up to 300 delegates. Our Food & Beverage offering comprises of a spacious restaurant, Lounge Bar and Open Lobby café. Additionally, we offer a stunning private garden area plus a Health Club, Pool and Spa.
Job Overview
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Chief Engineer to join our team. Reporting to the General Manager, the Chief Engineer will oversee the day to day running and strategic planning of the engineering operation, ensuring the delivery of service excellence and the highest levels of guest satisfaction.You will also oversee the implementation of an effective preventative maintenance programme, whilst managing the efficient maintenance of hotel equipment and facilities.
Role responsibilities include:
·Overseeing the day-to-day engineering operations of the hotel, including managing staff schedules, assigning tasks, and ensuring that all work is completed on time and to a high standard.
·Developing and implementing preventative maintenance programs to ensure that all equipment and facilities are well-maintained and in good working order.
·Managing the hotel's energy usage and implementing energy-saving measures where possible.
·Driving awareness of energy saving and green initiatives across the hotel.
·Ensuring that all engineering work is carried out accurately and safely, and in accordance with health and safety guidelines.
·Managing relationships with external contractors and suppliers, including negotiating contracts and ensuring that all work is completed to a high standard and within budget.
·Providing meaningful input into the hotel's budget for engineering work and managing the budget accordingly.
·Conducting regular inspections of the hotel's facilities and equipment to identify any engineering issues and ensure that they are addressed promptly.
·Liaising with relevant heads of department with regards to planning and completing engineering or maintenance work.
·Keeping accurate records of all engineering work, including expenses, work completed, and parts used.
·Providing reports to senior management on the status of engineering work and any issues that may arise.
·Assisting with the recruitment, training, and development of engineering staff.

Key Requirements:
You will be a positive, enthusiastic and resourceful individual with excellent verbal and written communication skills and a proven ability to plan, prioritise, multi task and self manage, without constant supervision. Flexibility and adaptability to varied working hours are also vital to this role.
Previous Engineering management experience is essential.
You must be eligible to live and work in the UK to apply for this position and be in possession of a current work visa. In line with the requirements set by the Asylum and Immigration Act 1996, all applicants must be eligible to live and work in the UK. Documented evidence of the eligibility will be required from candidates as part of the recruitment process.
