Location - Glasgow/Hybrid with regular travel throughout Scotland and across the UK

Established on 1 April 2013 Police Scotland is responsible for policing across the whole of Scotland, some 28,168 square miles, covering a third of the United Kingdom's landmass with a unique range of urban, rural, island and remote communities. It is the second largest police service in the UK with 23,000 officers and staff working together for the people of Scotland.

We are seeking an exceptional Chief Financial Officer who will serve as a senior leader within Police Scotland as we enter the next phase of police reform and work every day to deliver our 2030 vision of a thriving workforce.
As one of the highest profile public finance leaders in Scotland, this role is a key member of the Police Scotland Leadership Team. The Chief Financial Officer is responsible for shaping and delivering the service's financial strategy to support sustainable and effective policing. The role involves aligning financial resources with strategic priorities, leading continuous improvement and ensuring sound financial management across the service. With an annual policing budget of £1.6 billion, the Chief Financial Officer promotes probity, value for money and accountability while overseeing a high-performing Finance function that meets the needs of both Police Scotland and the Scottish Police Authority.

This prestigious role will see you demonstrate leadership in influencing strategic and operational decisions to support policing priorities across Scotland. Leading with confidence and gravitas, you will drive a culture of continuous improvement and best financial practice through the directorate and across the organisation.
