Head4Talent is delighted to be supporting the recruitment of a new Chief Financial Officer for SRK Consulting (UK) Ltd, an international mining consultancy practice with a consolidated turnover of approximately £30 – 35m. This represents a truly exceptional opportunity for an ambitious and talented Finance leader to work closely with both the Board and the Senior Management team to develop and deliver strategy, to drive business growth and organisational development.

The Opportunity

With a buoyant and rapidly changing global mining sector, this represents an exciting time to be stepping into this key leadership role. With significant visibility across the UK business, its overseas subsidiaries and investments and the wider global network, the new CFO will look to develop a true Finance business partner model, building both the Finance team’s organisational profile, whilst providing clear direction, leadership, and development. The role will require international travel to support the wider Finance functions across Europe and Central Asia, particularly Kazakhstan, the Nordic region and India.

The new CFO will assume responsibility and oversight for all financial aspects of the SRK UK group business and will look to engender best practice, improving and developing financial IT systems, processes and controls as well as developing management information and reporting across the organisation. This is a truly hybrid role requiring the capacity to think and operate at both a strategic level with sound commercial acumen, but also at a hands-on practical and operational level.

The Candidate

The successful candidate will be a Qualified Accountant with a strong track record of career progression and success to date, with either experience at CFO/FD level.
The candidate will ideally have worked with international businesses and have a strong professional background with good technical capability.
It is of paramount importance that the candidate has strong leadership capability, is a team player with a collaborative style and effective at building relationships across the business. We are looking for a commercial candidate who can make an immediate impact and manage a variety of interesting projects with a strong commitment to delivering accurate information in a timely manner.
