Job Description - Chief People Officer

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Chief People Officer (CPO) is a strategic leadership role responsible for shaping and executing people strategy, talent management, and culture development. As a key member of the executive team, the CPO will drive initiatives to attract, develop, engage, and retain top talent while creating an inclusive and innovative workplace environment.

Description

  • Collaborate with the CEO and executive team to align the people strategy with the company's overall business objectives.
  • Advise PLC Board, remuneration committee and nominations committee on strategic people matters.
  • Develop and communicate a clear vision for the organisation's culture, values, and people practices.
  • Lead the development of talent acquisition strategies, from recruitment to on-boarding, ensuring the company attracts and hires exceptional talent.
  • Set a compelling vision to ensure thoughtful design and implementation of talent development programs that nurture employee growth, skills enhancement, and career progression.
  • Foster a learning culture that encourages continuous development and upskilling.
  • Lead and establish the group's performance management processes, including goal setting, feedback mechanisms, and performance evaluations.
  • Implement data-driven systems to measure and improve employee performance and productivity.
  • Lead DE&I initiatives to create an inclusive workplace, promoting diversity in all aspects of the organisation.
  • Develop and track metrics to measure progress in DE&I efforts.
  • Develop and run employee engagement strategies to enhance job satisfaction and workplace morale.
  • Implement well-being programs that support employees' physical, mental, and emotional health.
  • Oversee the design and management of competitive compensation and benefits packages.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant UK Employment laws and regulations.
  • Manage employee relations, resolving conflicts and fostering positive employee relations.
  • Stay abreast of HR technology trends and use data analytics to drive data-driven decision-making.
  • Implement and improve HR systems to streamline processes.
  • Responsible and/or accountable for ensuring the firm conducts all its Regulated Finance and Insurance sales activities in full compliance with FCA requirements and internal policies and procedures.

Profile

A successful CPO should have:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant subject preferred.
  • Proven experience in a senior HR leadership role, within the retail/consumer, automotive or technology sectors.
  • Strong understanding of HR best practices, UK Employment laws, and regulations.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to drive initiatives that align with business goals.
  • Demonstrated success in talent acquisition and development.
  • Experience in fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace.
  • Proficiency in HR technology and data analytics.
