Childcare Solicitor / Chartered Legal Executive - Manchester

A respected Greater Manchester law firm is seeking a dedicated Childcare Solicitor, Barrister or Chartered Legal Executive to join its specialist care team. The role offers a highly competitive salary (negotiable depending on experience) and the opportunity to work within a supportive team that includes experienced childcare lawyers, paralegal support, and secretarial assistance.

The Role

The successful candidate will manage a varied caseload with a strong focus on:

- Care proceedings
- Pre-proceedings under the Public Law Outline (PLO)
- Conducting advocacy where appropriate

You will be supported by colleagues across the childcare department, with opportunities to take on responsibility and develop further within the team.

Candidate Requirements

- 2+ years' PQE (guideline, but applications from a range of experience levels will be considered)
- Strong communication, drafting, and analytical skills
- Ability to manage a busy caseload effectively - Experience or willingness to undertake advocacy
- Children Panel membership (or working towards it) preferred
- Chartered Legal Executives should hold the appropriate advocacy or litigation rights qualification
