Salary: £29,000 – £32,000 per annum
Hours: Full-time, 37 hours per week, all year round

We are looking for a dedicated Children in Care Co-ordinator to play a vital role in supporting and improving the progress and outcomes of students who are Children Looked After (CLA), including unaccompanied asylum seekers, and Care Leavers.

This role involves delivering specialist pastoral support across multiple campuses, ensuring these learners receive the tailored assistance they need to succeed.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide pastoral support, mentoring, advocacy, and challenge to CLA and Care Leavers on both planned and responsive bases
• Schedule and chair electronic Personal Education Plans (ePEPs), ensuring compliance with statutory timelines and liaising with curriculum staff and external agencies
• Provide accurate sector information to local authorities and Virtual Schools regarding recruitment, enrolment, attendance, retention, achievement, progression, and destination data
• Monitor attendance of CLA and Care Leavers, contacting students, carers, parents, and Virtual Schools to develop early interventions when learners are ‘at risk’

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Experience developing Student Support strategies within an educational setting
• Proven ability to motivate and inspire young people to overcome barriers to success
• Experience advising on welfare issues and supporting positive mental health
• Experience building partnerships with external organisations
