Job Description - Children Residential Registered Manager

Registered Service Manager
  • Annual Salary: £40,000 - £50,000 plus performance-related bonuses
  • Location: Thornton Heath, London
  • Job Type: Full-time

Join an innovative Supported Accommodation provider as a Registered Service Manager. This is a unique opportunity to be involved in the development of a new facility aimed at setting industry standards and achieving Outstanding Ofsted ratings. Our site features a gym, library, games room, mechanics workshop, and a vegetable garden, among other facilities. We are dedicated to creating a positive environment where young people can thrive.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Induct and develop a staff team, ensuring compliance with statutory and organisational policies.
  • Lead and manage care and placement planning while maintaining professional relationships with multi-agency partnerships.
  • Oversee budgeting and financial management of the house.
  • Provide professional supervision and mentoring for staff.
  • Facilitate Ofsted inspections and regulatory reports.
  • Provide regular updates to the management team and escalate issues as appropriate.
  • Ensure the delivery of high-quality care to children and young people in the home.
  • Organise and support staff to provide the best possible care for each young person.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • NVQ level 5 in Management and NVQ level 3 in Caring for Children and Young People (or equivalent).
  • Minimum of 2-3 years' management experience, ideally with experience in Ofsted inspections.
  • Experience working with children aged 16-17 who have emotional and behavioural difficulties.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and leadership skills.
  • Knowledge of the Children's Act 1989, Care Standards Act 2000, The Supported Accommodation Regulations 2023, and all related relevant legislation.
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding procedures.
