Children Social Worker

3 months contract with local authority

Responsibilities:

• Screen and respond to new referrals in children's social care.
  


• Support the SPA in managing and gathering information on referrals.
  


• Communicate effectively with parents, professionals, and during face\-to\-face consultations.
  


• Analyze gathered information and make referral recommendations with SPA Management's approval.
  


• Respond to safeguarding calls and provide initial risk assessments.
  


• Handle information requests from external professionals in line with the Data Protection Act.
  


• Participate in monthly supervision and continuous professional development.
  

Qualifications:

• Degree in social work with a relevant professional qualification.
  


• Postgraduate qualification in social work, leadership, or management.
  


• Active registration with Social Work England and evidence of ongoing professional development.
  

Skills and Experience:

• Strong knowledge and application of social work practices.
  


• Understanding of relevant theories informing practice delivery.
  


• Experience in building partnerships and co\-producing solutions with diverse stakeholders.
  


• Ability to use data and evidence to inform decision\-making.
  


• Experience in maintaining records and producing reports for various stakeholders.
  


• Knowledge of statutory legislation and national policy affecting children's services.
  


• Experience in short\-term work to meet needs and prevent long\-term social work involvement.
  


• Addressing equality or diversity issues in practice.
