The Social Worker will play a crucial role within the Multi\-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH), focusing on the screening and response to new referrals in children's social care. This position is vital in ensuring the delivery of high\-quality services to children, young people, and their families. As the Single Point of Access (SPA) Social Worker, you will manage the SPA by screening and gathering information on referrals, communicating effectively with parents and professionals, and making informed recommendations. You will also handle safeguarding calls, provide initial risk assessments, and respond to information requests in compliance with the Data Protection Act. Supervision and professional development support will be provided by the Team Manager.
Responsibilities:
- Screen and respond to new referrals in children's social care.
- Support the SPA in managing and gathering information on referrals.
- Communicate effectively with parents, professionals, and during face\-to\-face consultations.
- Analyze gathered information and make referral recommendations with SPA Management's approval.
- Respond to safeguarding calls and provide initial risk assessments.
- Handle information requests from external professionals in line with the Data Protection Act.
- Participate in monthly supervision and continuous professional development.
