Children Support Worker

• Assist in achieving the aims and objectives of the Statement of Purpose.
• Support the staff team to meet the needs of the children and young people.
• Undertake direct work with children and young people as appropriate.
• Ensure each shift is planned and resources are appropriately allocated.
• Work in partnership with other professionals to achieve optimum outcomes for young people.
• Provide support to staff in line with National Minimum Standards as directed by leadership.

• Be aware of each child’s care plan and your responsibilities for its implementation.
• Attend childcare reviews and planning meetings to provide information and achieve the best outcomes for young people.
• Maintain accurate written records in logs, continuation sheets, and files to enable regular monitoring and evaluation.
• Participate in children’s meetings and facilitate consultation with young people.
• Develop routines in consultation with young people and staff concerning all aspects of child care.
• Ensure compliance with National Minimum Standards through appropriate reporting and recording systems.
• Support supervisory control and direction related to staff duties and responsibilities.

• Desire to work towards obtaining Diploma Level 3 in Children & Young People Workforce.
• Knowledge of National Minimum Standards, Children Act, and other relevant legislation.
• Experience in a supportive role, preferably within real estate.
• Excellent organisational and team-building skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
• Understanding the needs of BESD children including managing challenging behaviour.
