Medway Council is seeking a dedicated and experienced
Deputy Manager to join the team at one of their
Ofsted-rated "Good in all areas" children's homes, nestled in
an acre of stunning grounds in Upnor. This is more than just a job — it’s an opportunity to make a lasting difference in the lives of children and young people.

Deputy Manager, you will support the Registered Manager in the leadership and daily operations of the home, ensuring a consistently high standard of care and safeguarding for the children. You will play a vital role in:
- Leading and supervising a committed team of residential care professionals
- Promoting a child-centred, therapeutic approach to care
- Ensuring compliance with Ofsted and regulatory standards
- Supporting staff development through coaching and reflective practice
- Acting as a role model and upholding the home’s ethos and values
- Helping drive continuous improvement and positive outcomes for every child
What We’re Looking For: - Previous experience in a leadership role within a children’s residential care setting
- NVQ Level 3 in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) – Level 5 desirable or willingness to work towards it
- A strong understanding of safeguarding, trauma-informed care and child development
- Excellent leadership, communication and team-building skills
- A passion for improving the lives of children and young people
