Deputy Home Manager – Children's Residential

Location: Doncaster
Salary: £35,000–£40,000 per annum
Home Size: Children's Residential Home

What We're Looking For

Level 3 or Level 4 Diploma in Children & Young People's Workforce, Residential Childcare or equivalent
Minimum of 2 years' experience in a supervisory or management role within children's residential care
Experience working with children and young people who display challenging behaviours
Experience supporting children with Learning Disabilities (desirable)
Strong leadership, organisational and communication skills
Good IT and administrative skills
Ability to build positive relationships with children, families and partner agencies
Passion for delivering high-quality, child-centred care
Flexible approach to working days, evenings, weekends and bank holidays
Full UK Driving Licence
Applicants must be aged 21 or over in line with residential childcare regulations
Right to work in the UK (visa sponsorship is not available for this position)
Successful applicants will be required to complete an Enhanced DBS check and provide satisfactory references
Key Responsibilities

Support the Registered Manager with the day-to-day leadership and management of the home
Deputise for the Registered Manager in their absence
Lead on report writing, care planning and risk assessments
Chair and contribute to multi-agency meetings when required
Support the delivery of high-quality, safe and nurturing care for children and young people
Build and maintain positive relationships with children, families and external professionals
Supervise, mentor and support the residential staff team
Promote safeguarding, positive outcomes and person-centred care
Ensure compliance with Children's Homes Regulations, Quality Standards and organisational policies
Maintain accurate records and regulatory documentation
Gain practical experience across all aspects of residential home management as part of ongoing professional development
Work a rota averaging 37.5 hours per week, consisting of three administrative days (9:00am–4:30pm) and one full shift supporting the team
