You know what good looks like. Now it’s time to lead it.
We're looking for a Deputy ready to step up or an established Registered Manager to take the lead at an EBD children's home supporting young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties.
This is an opportunity for someone who understands that running a children's home is about far more than policies, paperwork and inspections.
It's about creating a home where young people feel safe, understood and given the opportunity to succeed.
You'll have the responsibility, autonomy and support to lead the home, develop your team and drive outstanding outcomes for the young people in your care.
What will you be responsible for?
As Registered Manager, you'll have overall responsibility for the day-to-day operation of the home, ensuring it provides high-quality care while meeting all regulatory and safeguarding requirements.
Your responsibilities will include:
✅ Leading and managing the incredible residential childcare team ✅Creating a positive culture where staff feel supported, accountable and motivated ✅Ensuring young people receive consistent, individualised and high-quality care ✅Managing safeguarding concerns and ensuring young people's welfare remains the priority ✅Overseeing care plans, risk assessments, records and other regulatory documentation ✅Supporting staff through supervision, training, development and performance management ✅Working closely with social workers, families, education professionals and other agencies ✅Managing incidents and challenging behaviour effectively and professionally ✅Preparing for and responding to Ofsted inspections ✅Ensuring the home operates in line with the Children's Homes Regulations and Quality Standards ✅Monitoring and improving the overall performance of the home ✅Working alongside the Responsible Individual and wider management team to continually raise standards
We're looking for a leader, not just a manager
The right person will understand that good leadership is felt throughout a home.
You'll be visible, approachable and confident enough to make difficult decisions when necessary.
You'll know when your team needs support, when standards need challenging and, most importantly, when a young person needs someone to advocate for them.
You'll ideally have:
✅Previous experience as a Registered Manager or Deputy Manager within residential childcare ✅Strong experience supporting young people with EBD, SEMH, trauma or challenging behaviours ✅A relevant Level 5 qualification in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare, or willingness to complete one where applicable ✅A strong understanding of Ofsted regulations and the Children's Homes Regulations and Quality Standards ✅Experience leading, developing and managing a residential childcare team ✅Excellent safeguarding knowledge ✅Strong communication, organisational and decision-making skills ✅The confidence to take ownership and be accountable for the home's performance ✅A genuine commitment to improving outcomes for children and young people
What makes a great Registered Manager?
It's not simply about getting through an Ofsted inspection. It's about building a team that genuinely cares. It's about creating consistency for young people who may not have experienced much of it. It's about recognising progress, even when that progress seems small.
And it's about creating a home where staff are proud to work and young people are given the best possible chance to thrive!
If you're the kind of manager who wants to build something, improve something and leave a positive mark on a home, this could be the opportunity you've been waiting for Only candidates based in UK and eligible to work in UK are allowed
