Job Title: Crisis Support Worker – Young People’s Mental Health
Location: Huntingdon / Cambridgeshire
Pay: £17.50–£28 per hour

Hours: 12-hour shifts (Days and Nights available)

We’re on the lookout for down-to-earth, emotionally switched-on people to support young people (aged 11–17) when life gets overwhelming. Our Crisis Support Workers are the steady, compassionate presence these young people can count on—especially when everything else feels uncertain.

What You’ll Do

•             Bring structure to the storm – Help the young person feel grounded through daily routines, meals, school runs, and activities that make life feel normal again.

•             Be their go-to person – When emotions run high, you’ll stay calm. You’ll use tools like grounding exercises, emotional regulation, and good old-fashioned listening to help them get through it.

•             Keep it real (and recorded) – You’ll log what happens clearly and accurately to keep everyone in the loop and ensure safe, joined-up support.

•             Join forces – Work alongside CAMHS, social workers, and other professionals so the support network is strong and consistent.

•             Get out and about – Whether it’s a trip to school, an appointment, or an ice cream run, you’ll be driving (literally and emotionally) the journey forward.

•             Keep learning – Reflective supervision and regular training are part of the job, helping you stay sharp and supported too.

Is This You?

• You’ve supported young people in crisis, or those dealing with complex mental health challenges.

• You don’t flinch under pressure—you stay calm, focused, and kind.

• You get trauma-informed care, and you know how to meet someone where they’re at.

• You’re flexible with your shifts—nights, weekends, short notice? You’re on it.

• You’ve got a full UK driving licence and your own car.

•       Bonus points if you’ve worked in secure settings, youth work, mental health services, or social care.
