Children’s Support Worker

Our client is seeking a compassionate, resilient, and dedicated Children’s Support Worker to join their therapeutic, child-centred service. Based in a small, nurturing home for younger children and young people, this role is ideal for someone who is deeply committed to trauma-informed care and meaningful relationship-building.

The Role
Working 37.5 hours per week plus sleep-ins, the Children’s Support Worker will play an active and essential part in delivering completely therapeutic-focused care and planning. This includes supporting daily routines, participating in enriching activities, and ensuring each child’s voice is heard and valued.
The salary ranges from £24,000–£25,000 per annum, rising to up to £27,700 with sleep-ins, and is accompanied by a generous benefits package.
What We're Looking For
Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) – this is essential
A genuine passion for supporting children and young people through trauma and adversity
Excellent communication and empathy skills
A calm, grounded presence and the ability to respond sensitively in challenging moments
Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins

Key Responsibilities
Build strong, trusting relationships with children and young people
Implement therapeutic care plans tailored to individual needs
Support children with daily routines, education, emotional regulation, and social development
Work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team to ensure consistent, high-quality care
Maintain clear, sensitive, and accurate records
Uphold safeguarding and health & safety standards at all times
