CHP Field Engineer in Gloucestershire | Alecto Recruitment Ltd Search Search CHP Field Engineer Alecto Recruitment Ltd Gloucestershire Permanent Published: 5 days ago £39000 - £40000 per annum + + Shift Allowance CHP Field Engineer Alecto Recruitment Ltd FM33264 CHP Field Engineer £39,740 Basic Salary + £4,128 South Weighting South M4 Based Alecto Recruitment is working with a leading company in the power generation and renewable energy sector, who are seeking a CHP Field Engineer to support the operation, maintenance, and optimisation of generator assets across multiple sites. This is a regional role with travel across the UK and occasional stayaways, offering a hands-on position within a growing and technically diverse environment. Benefits On-call payment of up to £2,000 pa. Overtime available up to 8 hours per week. Pension (5.5% employer, 3.5% employee contributions). Annual Company Performance-related bonus scheme. Gas safe and 18th Edition certificates available. Key Responsibilities & Tasks Carry out planned and reactive maintenance, fault finding, and repair on CHP plant, generators, and associated electrical and mechanical systems. Support installation, commissioning, and integration of new equipment and sites. Assist and guide Operations staff with servicing, breakdowns, and routine maintenance. Maintain and inspect plant including pumps, motors, PV systems, energy storage, and heat equipment. Ensure compliance with HSQE standards, company procedures, and legislation. Manage spare parts, stock control, and complete all required documentation and records. Participate in on-call rota and respond to emergency breakdowns when required. Monitor site performance, support audits, and handle environmental responsibilities including incident response. Supervise contractors and represent the company professionally on site. Skills & Requirements Electrical qualification or relevant engineering experience. Strong knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and heat systems maintenance. Experience with control systems (12V DC - 415V AC). Proven fault finding and diagnostic ability. Gas Safe certification (or willingness to obtain). 18th Edition qualification (or willingness to achieve). Experience with CHP, gas engines, PV, energy storage or HVAC systems desirable.
