Job Description - Civil Engineer Placement - Shafts

About the role:





    • Attending meetings to monitor progress, technical, quality and safety.

    • Working with the procurement team to supply any required equipment and materials.

    • Monitoring the implementation of the ITPs.

    • Ensuring that method, sequence and resource required to deliver the activities are thoroughly planned, programmed and delivered.

    • Monitoring progress against the weekly programmes on a daily basis.

    • Recording any events which affect the day's activities in a comprehensive site diary (e.g. weather, resource availability, instructions received, interfaces with other tasks etc. etc.) and updating detailed progress reports, daily diaries changes and issues for areas of responsibility.

    • Ensuring that any repairs to segments meet all requirements with respect to programme, quality, safety.

    • Monitoring the implementation of the method statements.

    • Fulfilling Health & Safety responsibilities by adhering to the Align's Health & Safety Policy and Management Plans always ensuring the safe execution of the works.

    • Ensure the works are carried out safely in the finishing bays both in the erection deck and in the precast yard.

    • Assist the site management team to manage sections of the work/specific sub-contract packages.

    • Complying with all Company's Policies and Procedures.

    • Undertaking other such reasonable duties appropriate to the role.




Essential Skills:



  • Studying towards a Civil Engineering Degree.

  • Strong communication skills with good interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to prioritise, plan, schedule and evaluate works.

  • Computer skills across the whole Microsoft Office suite.


Preferable Skills:



  • Knowledge of engineering science and technology.

  • Knowledge of building and construction.

  • Design skills.


Special Requirements (e.g. DBS Check, Driving Licence, etc.):



  • CSCS Card holder (desirable but training will be provided).

  • Desirable / Membership of construction industry professional body.
