Job Description - Civil Infrastructure Engineer

Civil Drainage Engineer (Minimum 2 Years' Experience)
Location: Birmingham
Job Type: Full-Time
Sector: Civil Engineering / Infrastructure Consultancy

About the Role
We are seeking a motivated Civil Drainage Engineer with at least 2 years of relevant experience to join a growing consultancy team based in Birmingham. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer looking to develop their career within a supportive and technically focused environment, working on a diverse range of infrastructure and development projects.

Key Responsibilities of this civil engineer position;

Design and deliver surface water and foul drainage strategies for residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments.
Prepare drainage calculations, reports, and drawings to support planning and technical approvals.
Produce drainage layouts and models using industry-standard software (e.g., MicroDrainage / InfoDrainage or similar).
Liaise with clients, local authorities, and multidisciplinary project teams to coordinate designs.
Assist with Flood Risk Assessments (FRAs) and Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS)
Support the preparation of technical submissions for planning and Section 104/106/185 agreements.
Ensure designs comply with relevant UK standards and regulations.Requirements

Degree (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
Minimum 2 years' experience in drainage design within a consultancy environment.
Experience with drainage modelling software (e.g., MicroDrainage, InfoDrainage, or similar).
Knowledge of SuDS principles, UK drainage standards, and approval processes.
Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
Working towards professional accreditation (e.g., ICE) is desirable.What We Offer
