We are looking for an experienced Civil Litigation Solicitor to lead our Civil Litigation Department in Manchester. This is a key role in our firm, ideal for someone ready to drive performance, manage a varied caseload, and play a strategic part in our ongoing success.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and lead the Civil Litigation Department.
• Oversee a caseload including contract disputes, property matters, debt recovery, and landlord-tenant issues.
• Provide clear legal advice and guidance to clients.
• Draft and review complex legal documents.
• Represent clients in court, mediations, and negotiations.
• Mentor and supervise junior solicitors and support staff.
• Track case progress and departmental targets.
• Stay informed on legal developments in civil litigation.
• Support business development through networking and client engagement.
• Work with senior leadership to align departmental and firm-wide goals.

The Person

• Qualified Solicitor (England and Wales) with at least 5 years' PQE.
• Strong civil litigation experience across varied matters.
• Proven leadership or team management background.
• Confident advocate with excellent negotiation skills.
• Able to manage your own caseload while guiding a team.
• Commercially aware with a strategic outlook.
• Skilled in legal research and case management systems.
• Excellent communication and client service skills.
• Team player with a professional and proactive attitude.
