Location: Manchester (hybrid – 2–3 days in the office per week)
Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 per annum
Contract: Full-time, permanent
 
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Claims Handler to join an established commercial insurance team in Manchester. You’ll manage claims from initial notification through to settlement, with a particular focus on commercial motor and liability claims.
 
This role would suit a customer-focused claims professional with brokerage experience, strong negotiation skills and the confidence to manage relationships with clients, insurers and other stakeholders to achieve the best possible outcomes.
 
Key Responsibilities

Manage the end-to-end claims process, from investigation and assessment through to negotiation and settlement.
Handle commercial motor and liability claims, ensuring claims are managed efficiently and in line with policy terms.
Negotiate with insurers to secure the best possible settlement outcomes.
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, brokers, insurers, loss adjusters and legal representatives.
Provide a high standard of customer service, offering support and guidance to clients throughout the claims process.
Analyse claims information, identify trends and contribute to improvements in claims management processes.
Ensure compliance with relevant insurance regulations, legal requirements and internal procedures. 
Essential Skillset

Proven experience handling commercial insurance claims, particularly commercial motor and liability.
Previous experience working within an insurance brokerage.
Strong understanding of insurance policies, coverage and claims procedures.
Excellent client relationship management and customer service skills.
Strong negotiation, analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
A resilient, confident and organised approach, with the ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines.
A compassionate and professional approach when supporting clients through challenging circumstances.
