Class 1 Building Control Inspector

A reputable London Local Authority is seeking a Class 1 Building Control Inspector to join its Building Control team during an exciting period of growth and increased development activity.

Rate: £280–£300 per day (Inside IR35)
Location: London 
Contract: Interim

You'll play a key role in ensuring new developments comply with Building Regulations while providing expert technical advice to residents, developers, architects and contractors.

Key Responsibilities
Undertake Building Control inspections on domestic and low-risk construction projects within the scope of your Class 1 Registered Building Inspector registration.
Assess Building Regulation applications, plans and technical submissions, ensuring compliance with current Building Regulations and associated legislation.
Carry out site inspections and prepare clear, accurate inspection reports, identifying non-compliance where necessary and recommending appropriate actions.
Provide professional technical advice and guidance to homeowners, developers, architects, contractors and other stakeholders throughout the construction process.
Ensure compliance with the Building Safety Act, Building Regulations and all relevant statutory requirements.
Maintain accurate records using Building Control systems and contribute to the efficient delivery of the Building Control service.
Work collaboratively with colleagues and external partners to deliver high-quality, customer-focused Building Control services.
Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to maintaining high professional and regulatory standards.About You

We're looking for an enthusiastic Building Control professional who has:

Current registration as a Class 1 Registered Building Inspector (RBI) with the Building Safety Regulator.
Experience working within a Local Authority, Approved Inspector or Building Control environment.
Sound knowledge of the Building Regulations, Building Safety Act and associated legislation.
Experience carrying out site inspections and assessing Building Regulation applications.
Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to explain technical matters clearly to a range of stakeholders.
Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage a varied workload effectively.
