Class 1 Driver

Overview

We are seeking a professional and dependable Class 1 Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely operating commercial vehicles, including flatbed lorries, to deliver goods efficiently and on time. This role offers an excellent opportunity for experienced drivers with a passion for driving and delivering quality service. Candidates must hold a valid Class 1 licence and have relevant driving experience, preferably with flatbed and commercial vehicles.

Duties

* Safely operate Class 1 lorries, including flatbed trucks, across designated routes

* Ensure the secure loading and unloading of goods, adhering to safety regulations

* Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after journeys to identify any maintenance needs or safety issues

* Plan efficient delivery routes to meet deadlines while maintaining safety standards

* Complete all necessary documentation accurately, including delivery logs and vehicle checklists

* Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding delivery schedules or any issues encountered during transit

* Maintain a professional appearance and uphold the company's reputation during all interactions with clients and colleagues

Qualifications

* Valid Class 1 driving licence with a clean driving record

* Proven experience in commercial driving, particularly with flatbed lorries and delivery vehicles

* Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices in transportation

* Excellent organisational skills with the ability to plan routes efficiently

* Good physical fitness to handle loading/unloading tasks and long hours on the road

* Ability to work independently, demonstrating reliability and punctuality

* Prior experience with delivery driver roles is highly desirable
