Class 1 Night Driver

Role: Class 1 (HGV C+E) - Night Driver 

Job type: Temporary Assignments

Start time/s: Vary - PM

Days/shifts: Mon to Fri 

Start date: TBC based on registration with agency

Job Role / Description:

• Our client is a well known retail distribution specialist looking for temporary drivers to cover weekday night nights
• Drivers will have to complete a site induction before work can begin
• All good delivered are chilled or frozen
• Drivers must ideally be experienced and hold a strong background is using refrigerated trailers
• Drivers will be required to make between 2 - 6 store deliveries per shift
• You will be required to manually handle and unload deliveries at retail stores which will involve the driver moving delivery cages off the trailer to warehouse attendant
• Start times vary due to delivery slots and delivery runs available
• Vehicles are in good condition

Requirements:

• Be competent and able to follow Health & Safety practises and procedures at all time
• Be reliable and hold excellent time keeping
• Hold a flexible ‘can do’ attitude to your work
• Good command of English both written and spoken
• Excellent communication skills
• Keep vehicle is kept clean and tidy at all times
• Have excellent geographic knowledge of UK road network
• Have a positive attitude and a professional work ethic
• Smart appearance, as you will be representing Freeway Recruitment & our Client

Qualifications / training / experience:

You must be able to provide the following;

- Valid Class 1 (HGV C+E) driving licence

- Valid Digital tachograph card

- Valid Driver CPC card

- Have No more than 6 current points on licence (No DR/DD/IN Driving offences

accepted)

- 2 work work references

Pay

£15.00ph basic (Paye Holiday pay accrued) / £15.50 Overtime after 8 hours worked

£15.50ph basic (Ltd Co or Umbrella) / £16.50ph Overtime paid after 8 hours worked
