HGV Driver Operator
Due to an increase in workload, X-Met Metals Ltd are seeking to employ an HGV Driver Operator to work out of the companies St Helens site. The position being advertised is a permeant, working 40 Hours a week 8am to 4:30pm Monday to Friday
Listed below are the key duties / responsibilities of the position being advertised: -
Key Duties / Responsibilities
Must hold a minimum Class 2 HGV Licence
Must have a good understanding of all the legal requirements required of the position
Transporting 40-yard RORO Skips across the North West of England
Must have experience in safely loading and unloading of RORO Skips
Must hold the correct knowledge to ensure that all plant and equipment is operational and safe prior to operating the wagon.
Must hold the correct skill to carry out safety checks in line with the Health and Safety regulations prior to use of the wagon
Ensure the wagon is clean and tidy prior to commencement of work activities
Ensure all paperwork and data is fully completed in line with legislative requirements and presented to the appropriate person at the company.
Communicate any deviations from original job specifics to the relevant people
Ensure that all work and tasks are carried out in line with the companies guidelines to assist, in the continual development and improvement of PTS, its ISO 9001 management systems and to comply with all international standards, Health and Safety, applicable laws, regulations, protocols and guidelines.
On days where the wagon is not in use the position will be expected to work from one of its two units assisting with processing duties as requested
Qualifications/skills:
A clean HGV Class 2 License - Essential
Good understanding and knowledge of road network - Essential
Knowledge of Health & Safety and Environmental issues within the job role - Essential
CPC Card - Essential
2 years experience in a highways related discipline - Preferred
Hold current CSCS card - Preferred
Clean Driving Licence

Preferred
Must have experience of working within the scrap metal industry - Preferred
