We are currently seeking to recruit HGV C Waste Drivers to work with our Client on a temporary ongoing basis. Permanent opportunites available for the right Candidates.
Job purpose:
Responsible for a small team collecting waste across different types of waste collection, including the weekly food waste collection service, as part of the wider waste management services we provide. To ensure tasks and paperwork are completed in a professional manner to the highest standards of safety and customer service. The postholder may also be required to undertake and support other duties and responsibilities as and when required to meet operational demands and service needs.
Main duties and responsibilities:
* To drive waste collection vehicles, appropriate to the driving license held; C license required as a minimum.
* To undertake and support the collection of food waste, refuse, dry recycling, cardboard, garden waste and any other waste collections operated by the service.
* To undertake all CPC requirements necessary to maintain required driving qualifications, including complying with all traffic laws, legislation and safe operating procedures.
* To ensure all waste collection rounds are completed, including helping other crews complete their rounds when requested.
* Ensure safe operating practices are adhered to by you and others under your supervision.
* To record and report any incidents such as waste not presented using a handheld device (iPad or similar).
* To provide operational flexibility by undertaking other duties appropriate to, or below, the grading of the post as and when required to support service delivery.

* To always see the service through the eyes of the customer and make suggestions for improvement where appropriate
* To use/wear all personal protective equipment necessary to the task
* To maintain safe working practices at all times, and report any accidents, hazards or near misses immediately
* To constantly challenge own performance and make improvements
* To carry out duties efficiently and effectively
* To participate in the Client’s appraisal scheme and to undertake any necessary training and development as identified for the job role
* To undertake any other reasonable tasks appropriate to the grading of the post and as required by the Team Manager
* To promote the Client's Equality and Diversity Policy to ensure service provision and employment practices are non-discriminatory
* To assist in the event of a civil emergency in any way as instructed
